Surgery and clinic attendance is by appointment only – you can visit our Consulting Room here.
The surgery operates an appointment system for booking with either a Doctor, Specialist Nurse, Nurse or a Health Care Assistant.
Appointments with a doctor can be booked up to two weeks in advance and up to four weeks in advance with a nurse. The reception staff will do their best to offer you a time that is convenient for you.
Wherever the appointment is medically urgent we will endeavour to see you on the same day or if we are fully booked we will offer you an alternative pathway to seeing a healthcare professional
If you find that your appointment is no longer necessary, or you cannot make it; please cancel it.
When you wish to see a Doctor, you do not have to see the Doctor that you are registered with. All of our Doctors have access to your medical records and you may see any of the Doctors in the practice.
Alternatively, there are other options aside from seeing a Doctor. You could see the Specialist Nurse who is trained to see patients with new problems, especially minor illnesses such as viral and skin infections, minor injuries and coughs/colds and many more. For contraception, blood pressure checks, diabetes, asthma, and many other problems, you can see the Practice Nurses.
We are working with other local practices to offer improved access appointments in the evenings or at weekends. Please speak to a member of the practice team to find out more.
If you need an urgent appointment, or a home visit, please ring 0117 980 5100 and hold for a receptionist
You will be given an appointment time for a doctor to call you and assess whether you need to attend the surgery, require a home visit, or have a query that can be dealt with over the telephone or by using another health care provider.
Using this system allows us to ensure that you receive the most appropriate service in regard to your specific needs.
In a life-threatening emergency, please ring 999 and ask for an ambulance. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
Appointment Reminder by Text Messaging Service to Mobile Phones
Any patient whose mobile number is known to the practice and who has an appointment will be sent a text message, reminding them of the appointment date, time and the name of the doctor or nurse who the appointment is with.
If the appointment is no longer required, the message prompts you to reply using the word ” cancel “.
The appointment will then be automatically cancelled for you. Texts will only be sent between Monday to Sunday, but not Saturdays and between the hours of 10am and 5pm on those days. If your appointment is on a Monday, you will be sent this reminder text message on the Sunday prior.
Evening and Weekend Appointments
