Flu national communications campaign restarts this weekend

Later this week the national flu campaign will be reinvigorated following a short delay due to increased demand from the wider general public. It re-starts with TV advert accompanying the Help Us Help You winter activity and comprises television adverts on national television channels as well as other outdoor and print media.

Despite the great deal of work has been done to make the phases of the campaign clear both regionally and nationally, it is anticipated that once again you may see demand rise from those in the 50-64 year old category, asking when they may be able to access their vaccination.

As in previous years this campaign continues to target those most at risk and moves onto focusing on those with long term conditions from the age of 16 to 65, call and re-call letters will also support this communications activity.

We understand there is a pressing need for further information to be provided for those healthy 50-64 year olds, rest assured this will follow once all at risk groups have been vaccinated.

As a result please continue to share the message that once further information becomes available they will be notified and invited to vaccination clinics. This is likely to be in November-December.
